Kevin Collins, the Canadian Singer/Songwriter who is Rosette Records newest addition, has just completed a highly successful promotional tour of Ireland.

Throughout the 3 week trip across the country Kevin was greeted with great warmth and encouragement, with DJ’s and listeners alike frequently commenting favourably on his particular style of engaging country music.

‘From An Island To An Island’, taken of Kevin’s Best Of album ‘The Collection’ which is available now, seemed to be a particular highlight and Kevin even managed to find time throughout the trip to perform this song, amongst many others from the album, live at some very special exclusive Variety Evenings where he was invited to perform as a special guest.

Kevin has now returned to his native Canada where work is set to begin on a brand new album which we hope to be able to release next year. In the meantime a brand new DVD also entitled ‘From An Island To An Island’ has just been released alongside ‘Best Of’ CD ‘The Collection’ which is already available. The DVD itself is follows this award winning singer/songwriter around Ireland as he visits the land of his ancestors. Also included is a special documentary with Kevin in which he shares memories with us and invites us into stories of his musical career and personal life.

Kevin Collins Receives Ambassador of Hospitality Award Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador presented an Ambassador of Hospitality Award to singer/songwriter Kevin Collins at the St. John’s Tourism Awards Presentation held at St. John’s City Hall yesterday.

Kevin Collins has been captivating audiences throughout Newfoundland and Labrador for many, many years. He started singing as a young boy at the age of six and began performing in pubic at age eleven.

The tremendous influence of his family, community and homelife are evidenced throughout many of his songs, which effectively capture the spirit of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Having become a nationally and internationally recognized performer, this individual has remained true to his traditional roots, promoting and regaling the majesty of our province and its people wherever he goes. His heartfelt dedication to Newfoundland and Labrador is further evidenced throughout much of his music, which not only entertains listeners, but entices, enchants and excites them with tales of our culture, our history, our people and our heritage.

One of the nominators for this individual, and there were many, quoted him as saying “Newfoundland is a place where hospitality and friendship is not a business, but a way of life.” These words simply and beautifully convey his dedication and passion for Newfoundland and Labrador, making him a wonderful ambassador for this province.

Congratulations, Kevin!

Val is registered through the Melody In Motion company to sell figurines. She also
repairs these beautiful items. So please contact her if you have items in need of repair.

It is Val’s goal to offer you a pleasant, honest experience when dealing with my company. Her hope is to inform you about these beautiful and entertaining figurines and make them accessible to you and your friends and family and to the state of Alaska. Of course you do not have to live in Alaska to order through her store.

Melody in Motion began in 1985 with it’s creation of Willie the Hobo. The goal was to make entertainment the heart and soul of every collectible figurine. Each figurine is made of fine bisque porcelain and beautifully detailed and crafted to stand out among other collectible figurines, music boxes and clocks. Melody in Motion has produced a variety of designs including, Santa’s, Carolers, and Carousels along with the “Willie” collection. For more information about MIM, visit Val’s Melody in Motion page. If you already collect these fine figurines, then I am sure you will be anxious to expand your collection. If you are just beginning to collect, this is a wonderful place to begin…. Val looks forward to hearing from you, and is excited to help you continue on your journey with “Willie” and the Melody In Motion Family.
