The Sharecroppers… Guy (Romaine), Mike (Madigan), and Ed (Humber),… three Newfoundland west coast educators… have enjoyed entertaining and singing for the last NINETEEN YEARS! Great original tunes like One Room School, The Hangashore, Newfoundland Autumn, Viking Winds, The KYLE, The Legionnaires, The Mill Whistle, This New Founde Lande and lots more….The Sharecroppers bring to CRUISE SHIP audiences and Coach Line Tours their newest cd “HOME,BOYS!”
With new ORIGINAL tunes like Grenfell, The Crowd from up the Hill, A Traditional Song, This Island, TheHolding Ground and many more. While playing aboard Cruise Ships like Seabourn Pride, Norwegian Dawn,etc., national and international conferences and
summer festivals, the trio ENTERTAINS and DOES WHAT ITLOVES TO DO BEST….sing and explain the wonderful culture and heritage of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Sharecroppers are Guy Romaine: mandolin , guitar, harmony vocals, lead vocals. Mike Madigan: BIG bass fiddle (bowed sometimes!), guitar , fiddle, tin whistle, recorder , harmonica, lead vocals, harmony vocals,and and Ed Humber: contra bass fiddle, guitar, lead vocals, harmony vocals. A trio of successful singers, songwriters, musicians (& teachers) from Pasadena, Newfoundland. Their first CD “NATURAL” included songs One Room School, The KYLE, Newfoundland Autumn, My Grandfather’s Fiddle, Mill Whistle, The Legionnaires, Lest We Forget, The Engineer’s Song, Freddie’s Tune, Twenty-Five Miners. These original songs have brought great response from Newfoundlanders and tourists from all around the world…. In 1992 they represented Newfoundland at an I.S.M.E. festival in Seoul, Korea and since then, have entertained for national and international conferences, CRUISE SHIPS and COACH TOURS, while always remembering some of their best performances right here in Newfoundland in Parish & Legion Halls, Orange Lodges and schools….
Ed, Guy and Mike also performed 13 shows in May of 1996 at the INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THE SEA in Bristol England where they were invited to sing their second CD opener “This New Founde Lande” for the pre-Cabot 500 anniversary celebrations. After performing as well in BONAVISTA, Nfld. on June 24th,1997 with the MATTHEW. They later entertained at the BRANDON Manitoba, CANADA SUMMER GAMES. There they sang many of their latest songs filled with culture, humour, folklore and tradition…..
The trio was named HOSPITALITY NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR’s best TOURISM AMBASSADORS for the west coast. The Sharecroppers were also proud to be the official 1999 Canada Winter Games “Friends of the Games” as Western Newfoundland hosted the the Corner Brook 1999 Jeux du Canada Games… All in all, their second CD “THIS NEW FOUNDE LANDE” represents the very

Schools, libraries, LTTA (Learning through the Arts) have been using our music for plays and/or musicals! Great! Please let us in on what you are doing. How may we serve you?. Quite a few schools use “This New Founde Lande” for Newfoundland projects and our Legionaires Song for Remembrance Day. Feel free to use VIKING WINDS for studies on Viking SAGAS! Our HANGASHORE song has been used in plays..with lots of fun results We are celebrating 19 years as a trio! “Coach Tours and CRUISE SHIPS are now our biggest audience.”!





The Sharecroppers of Newfoundland Canada will be celebrating their 22nd year as a trio this summer of 2010….same three fellers since 1988. Our song “One Room School” is still requested at every show as well as Hangashore, Grenfell, Freddy’s Tune, Grandfather’s Fiddle and our rendition of I’se the B’y!!
